Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet
This story of young love and family relationships is like a haunting jazz melody both sad and joyful. Two young people from different cultures are separated by the government internment of Japanese families during World War II. More than 40 years later a pivotal event sets into motion a search that reunites them. I liked the book because it gave me a glimpse into other cultures and brought the effects of World War II on the homefront to life.
